| Position Description / Objective: | A Northern Air Cargo GSE mechanic’s duties will include but not be limited to: performing preventive maintenance inspections & servicing of company vehicles and equipment including line trucks and vans, AC and DC generator sets, portable heaters, push back tugs, baggage tugs, belt loaders, compressors, de-icer trucks, box vans, forklifts, maintenance/stair stands and other miscellaneous equipment used in the support of aircraft and buildings. Troubleshooting and repair of electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems using schematics, wiring diagrams, test equipment and proper hand tools as necessary. Gasoline and diesel engine diagnosis and repair as necessary. Must have the ability to operate a wide variety of equipment including snow removal equipment, man lifts and forklifts. Other duties may be assigned. Regular attendance is required. |
| Required skills and experience: | To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Five years hands on experience required. Trade or technical school may be substituted for a portion of hands on experience. Must own all tools necessary to complete maintenance actions listed above. | Position Description / Objective: | Passenger Ramp Service Supervisors are responsible to safely direct and coordinate all aircraft servicing, ramp handling, aircraft appearance service and station operations functions in support of all contracted clients handled by Northern Air Aviation Services in Anchorage. He/she will carry out responsibilities in accordance with the Companys policies and applicable laws by assisting, supervising and developing passenger ramp service team members. The Passenger Ramp Supervisor will monitor day to day performance of the station in order to ensure customer service, accurate and timely execution of all process and procedures and maintain the highest level of quality. The Passenger Ramp Supervisor is responsible for the administration, supervision and training of all passenger ramp service personnel and for keeping all station facilities, equipment and activities in compliance with all federal, state, local and airport regulations, policies and procedures. He/she will evaluate and audit work processes to ensure adherence to process standards, and will demonstrate knowledge of government regulations, company policies and procedures including but not limited to: Dangerous goods acceptance and handling, proper aircraft loading, flight security procedures and safety incident/hazard reporting. The Passenger Ramp Supervisor is responsible for maintaining station records, completing reports, preparing and approving time sheets and any other administrative support required by station management. Travel may be required. Other duties may be assigned. |
| Required skills and experience: | Bachelors degree preferably in aviation; equivalent work experience will be considered. Must possess a valid Alaska Drivers License and a good driving record. Must have a minimum of 2 years supervisory experience in the airline industry. Must be able to manage multiple priorities and have a good working knowledge of heavy aircraft passenger operations. Must have a working knowledge of computers and Microsoft Office suite applications. Must be able to read documents, follow instructions, learn and understand operations procedures, rules and regulations. Must be able to lift up to 70 pounds. Must be able to work all shifts and weekends. Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug test, 5 year background check, 10 year criminal history records check and a security threat assessment. |
